We have completed our formal application and started our Home Study. We meet with our Social Worker on Wednesday to have the first of three face to face meetings. The first two will be in her office and the last one in our home. At the home visit they will make sure that we have the rooms we say we do and also that we have our house baby proofed and safe. Since we are still working on our floors Ricky and his parents are planning a week long marathon to get this done starting Monday. I have a huge list of things that need to be done as well so it will be a busy couple of weeks getting ready for the home visit. I have completed my finger printing and Ricky will do his this week. After that, we will wait for the approval and final report of our Home Study. Then we will apply to the US State Department for Approval to adopt and send with that our final Home Study report.
During the application to the State Department we will be working on a huge amount of paperwork that will need to be sent to Ethiopia. This is called our Dossier. Basically its a paper pregnancy! Which I am sure could not be harder for me that a real pregnancy! So I am excited to be underway with that. Once that is complete we will have it authenticated through a very long and busy process and then translated into Amharic (language of Ethiopia) and then it will be on its way to be approved by the Ethiopian government. THEN WE WILL WAIT!
For how long we don't know... but as we do wait we will be getting ready. The boys need bunk beds and the nursery needs to be painted A GIRL color!!
So that is it in a nut shell, sounds crazy and it will probably be a little crazy but we are faithful that God will sustain us through this busy but exciting time!
Thank you once again for your amazing prayers! Keep them coming!
